WE LOVE CHRISTMAS TREE SHOPPING!!!!

All Silas wanted for Christmas this year was a three with lights...and let me tell you, that boy was EXCITED!!!! Jumping up and down and all over the place. We went to Kroger's, and pretended that we were on a Christmas tree farm all by ourselves.:) The trees were from Bellevue, Washington to add to our joy. The tree is now up and smelling WONDERFUL...you should come and see!!

Luke 2:4

Guess which hat he put on himself??

"...and Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem.." Silas LOVES reading about Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. The other day when reading a children's picture book to him about the wonderful story, he stops and says..." What do Joseph and Mary have on their head??" I told him they were hats of a different style. He wanted one, our cloth napkins seemed like a good size to me so off we went to the kitchen. When Jake got home from work Silas informed him that Joseph wore a napkin on his head like a hat and wasn't it funny!! HA, too cute! Now that he figured out how to put the napkin hat on all by himself I don't think I will have any clean napkins for a while!

There is so much to be thankful each and every day. I am glad we have a time of year where EVERYONE expresses thanksgiving in their own special way. Each year it seems as if there is more to be thankful for than the year before. I must say some years have more trials and struggles than an other but those years seem especially wonderful when on the other side of the challenge. God has an amazing way of shining His light through all situations and circumstances if only we let it.

We are grateful to all our friends and family for the different and wonderful color you all add to our lives. Each day God blesses us with is more amazing than the one before!

Or as Silas said a "Hummer truck Mama"!!

So thankful for our amazing little community park!

Taking his truck to the park today was a blast for Silas...he was thrilled that his truck was able to swing on the swings so well and racing through puddles, the BEST! On the way to the park I said "I would like it if you would NOT cry when I say it is time to leave the park, do you understand?" his reply was "I understand, I will not cry, did you hear what I said?" Ha, so funny, and he didn't cry!! (a newish development that apparently I just needed to ask him not to do ) Silas ans truck were both filthy and happy on our drive home.

Golfing practice at Clinton Park

We are enjoying the fact that Clinton Park is so close to our home and has so much to offer...a huge park, tons of hiking, rivers creeks and ponds, and fields for GOLF!!! Jake and Silas had such a blast hitting the balls for about an hour this weekend. I , of course took pictures then read a magazine in the sun and wind...such fun. Silas is getting pretty good at wielding the golf club and is getting better than me at naming the clubs, though I am not sure that is saying much;)
